Placing datalink centre stage

​Datalink services are a key technology for the transformation of the global ATM system, enabling the exchange of digital information between aircraft and the ground.

The Single European Sky and US NEXTGEN programmes both rely on improvements in efficiency and safety made possible by datalink services. Northrop Grumman is a leading provider of datalink equipment, with the latest generation of Park Air T6 Radios further establishing the company in this area.

Global datalink networks have been deployed and are providing service for aeronautical operational control (AOC) and air traffic control (ATC) across the globe. Airlines and air navigation service providers (ANSPs) depend on these services for many aviation needs. Yet these networks must be, and are being, urgently expanded and upgraded to address the growing demands of air traffic management (ATM) transformation.
